Economy
When you think of the economy in Sardinia, it is still thought as an island of shepards.
Festivities
Sardinia is a very traditional island.

Sardinia has a marine climate. The weather is hot and dry during the summer months and chilly and humid in the winter months. The temperature averages at about 17ºC. The temperatures do not tend to be extreme. It has snowed in certain areas, but it is not a common occurence.

The coldest months on the island are December through February. The temperature usually drops down to a low of 7ºC with areas in the middle of the island dropping to lower temperatures. It all depends on the height above sea level. March through May the temperature is usually a lovely 13-14ºC, with a few rainy days. This is definately a lovely time to visit this island as all of the flowers are in bloom, and the contrasts of green rocky mountains, with blooming trees and crystal waters is breathtaking.

Sardinia only has a few rainy seasons, usually at the end of autumn, begining of winter, and the start of spring. It is usually mostly noticed in the middle of the island, and much less around the coastal areas.

Snow has been known to fall in areas that are higher than 500 meters above sea leval, usually around the area of Gennargentu where you´ll typically find snow 4-5 months out of the year. The Marghine mountains all the way to Monti di Ala and Limbara are also places where they have snow fall.

Sardinia is also known as the "isola del vento" the windy island, due to the mistral winds that come from the north-west. In the summer months it blows warm winds causing the land and vegetation to dry out, but in the winter especially in the west coast they are hit by ponente (western winds) and the libeccio bringing winds from Africa. The Levante wind generally comes in the summer bringing moistered winds from Northern Africa that have picked up Mediterrenean moisture. Last but not least important is the Scirocco winds coming from the south of the mediterrenean.

The temperature of the sea between the months of January-March does not drop below 13ºC. The warmer months of June-September are the loveliest of all with waters heating up to 24ºC.
